Matsuri Auction 2025

Our JBBP program is celebrating going into it’s 52nd year, and we invite you to join us for our annual benefit auction. This event is our biggest annual fundraiser to support the JBBP program as well as the whole school's highest priorities: our beloved sensei, cultural events, classroom supplies, field trips, and even campus enhancements. 

This online auction will be March 16 -  23, and back by popular demand, our annual LIVE AUCTION on the night of March 22 from 6-9 pm (Doors open at 5:30 pm) at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Please save those dates!!

2024 Cherry Blossom Parade

Join us in showing our RP JBBP pride as we march from Civic Center to Japantown with the Grand Parade from 1-3pm!

Find us marching as a sea of red, with RP JBBP kids in their red Happi coats, and families marching along right before the 2024 Cherry Blossom Court!

2024 Cherry Blossom Festival POPCORN & Children's Booth!

Find us selling our famous Sakura Popcorn at the food bazaar, and hosting a fun activity for kids at the Children’s Village.

Our popcorn booth is located on the East side of Webster Street between Post and Sutter. We will be there both weekends on Saturday & Sunday from 11am to 5pm.

Children’s Village is located at 1675 Post Street in the new KOHO Co-Creative Hub. The Children’s Village will be open from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, April 13, Sunday, April14

Cherry Blossom Festival Grand Parade 2023

Be a part of the Rosa Parks JBBP wave! Every year spectators remark at what an amazing sight it is to see our JBBP community coming over the hill dancing, marching, and having a fantastic time! 

All students, families, and alums are welcome to dance and march in the parade on Sunday, April 16. The parade starts at 1pm at Civic Center. Kindergarteners will join the 1st-5th graders at Post & Octavia Streets near the Carlisle. Details regarding meeting place and time to be posted soon.

Sakura Popcorn Popping Day

Help us bring back this beloved school tradition of popping Sakura Popcorn after 4 years on hiatus due to COVID.  

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO for how our popcorn is made!

  • Come meet other parents! Sign up together for the same shifts and have an impromptu playdate with friends and teachers!

  • Great way to meet teachers and parents in other grades too! 

  • Kids are welcome to come and have a playdate in the school yard

  • Limited parking will be available in the staff parking lot.  Public transportation is encouraged

  • Light breakfast options and lunch will be provided for those shifts


BRING YOUR OWN HAT AND LONG HAIR SHOULD BE TIED BACK.  If not, there are free hairnets available.
